Valle de Guadalupe

Discover. Sip. Taste.

Discover the magical wine destinations of the Guadalupe Valley. Graced with over 180 wineries, the valley offers unique, unforgettable wine experiences and legendary Mexican hospitality. Valle de Guadalupe is only about the size of Napa, but it produces 90% of all Mexican wine. This part of Mexico, in fact, is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the Americas.

Located in the state of Baja California, and less than an hour south of the San Diego/Mexico border crossing, the Guadalupe Valley has quickly evolved into one of the hottest wine regions in the West. With its Mediterranean climate and close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, this hidden treasure is giving other major wine destinations a run for their money. Baja California’s wine is rarely exported, thus it is necessary to tour the region in order to truly appreciate its products. Some of the popular varieties you’ll find include Chenin Blanc, Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Malbec, and Barbera.

Typically the private tour includes a visit to three boutique wineries with complimentary wine tastings. In between enjoying wine, you explore the winemaking process through a guided wine tour.  We will also stop for lunch at the highly-reviewed Finca Altozano. Chef Javier Plascencia will prepare a five-course set menu of organic BajaMed dishes.  There is a six guest minimum for the private tour to run, public tours are also available.
